There are many career opportunities at DFCU Financial. If you visit the branches, a Member Relations Representative will assist you with your transactions.  A telephone call will connect you with a Member Service Agent who is available to you whatever your concern. Behind the scenes, there are Human Resource, Training, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Investment and a variety of computer professionals.

DFCU Financial has a strong commitment not only in educating young members on the importance of saving money and how to borrow money when necessary, but we also have a commitment to showing them how our organization operates through practical hands-on training.  Currently we operate two student-run branches in the metro Detroit area - Dearborn High School and Franklin High School in Livonia.  RuthAnn Albus, a DFCU Financial team member, works with the two high schools to select students who will manage and work at the branches, which are open once a week.

The process is designed to create a real world experience that will prepare students for the world of employment.  It includes completing an application and interviewing with a DFCU employee. When selected, the volunteer employees participate in a half day training session.

Several students have continued their experience by becoming part of the DFCU Financial team while attending college locally.

In addition to the learning opportunities for those who work at the branches, the high school branches provide a place for students to save money conveniently. In her own words, this is how having a branch at her high school helped one student:

"I got a job to start saving for a car, but as soon as I got the money, I would spend it. So, I opened up a savings account at DFCU and was able to save more than $1,500.  Now I have a car and extra gas money to spend.  If it wasn't for my savings account, I wouldn't have a car to take my friends out with or to go shopping"

Another student writes how the high school branch saved his Homecoming plans.

"I can't express how having a DFCU Branch in my high school has helped me these past three years that I have been at Franklin High School.  It is such a privilege to have a credit union in your own school.  Our DFCU opens at school every Tuesday during all 3 of our scheduled lunches.  It is located conveniently beside our gymnasium. It's a great place to go when you need money (of course!

I remember back to my freshman year.  I forgot to bring money for my Homecoming ticket, and, surely that day was the last day to buy your ticket for the dance.  I was so frustrated, because I already had my date for the dance.I thought I was a goner.  Then I realized, Ryan, it's Tuesday. I rushed to the counter and got my money.  Thankfully, I had enough for the dance, and we had the best night of our young lives."

Ryan, age 18, Livonia
